First Batch Bottled

Yesterday, we bottled the first batch of Wild Atlantic Mead, a beekeeper run Irish mead crafted from a unique blend of heather honey and wildflower honey.

It’s an 8% traditional mead, distinctive in today’s Irish market, and it comes in a 500 ml opera style bottle. We’re proud to bring this to market as a new expression of Irish mead. Special thanks to Lisa Ryan of the National Brewing and Distilling Centre at Teagasc, whose guidance helped make this possible.

The Wild Atlantic name nods to the West of Ireland and our relationship with the InishTurk Native Irish Honey Bee Sanctuary, which we’re proud to support. Seeing those first bottles come together was a real moment, and the early reaction has been really positive. Here’s hoping this is the first of many in the growing Irish mead market.
